【摘要】:Thisisafire-test-responsestandard.Thesetestmethodsaredesignedfortheassessmentoftheresistanceofupholsteredfurniturecomponentassembliestocombustionafterexposuretosmolderingcigarettesunderspecifiedconditions.Thetestsapplytoupholsteredfurniturecomponents-coverfabrics,interiorfabrics,weltcords,deckingmaterials,barriermaterials,andfillingorpaddingmaterialsincludingbutnotlimitedto:battingsofnaturalorman-madefibers,foamedorcellularfillingmaterials,resilientpadsofnaturalorman-madefibers,andlooseparticulatefillingmaterials(suchasshreddedpolyurethaneorfeathersanddown).Theindividualtestmethodsandthematerialstowhichtheyapplyareasfollows:CoverFabricTest-Appliestooutercoverfabrics(seeSections11and12).InteriorFabricTest-Appliestointeriorfabricsusedinintimatecontactwithouterfabrics(seeSections13and14).WeltCordTest-Appliestoweltcord(seeSections15and16).Filling/PaddingComponentTest-Appliestoresilientmaterialsusedunderthecoverfabricinseatsorininsideverticalwalls(insidearmandinsidebacks)(seeSections17and18).DeckingMaterialsTest-Appliestoresilientmaterialsusedinthedeckunderloosecushions(seeSections19and20).BarrierMaterialsTest-Appliestomaterialsthatareintendedtoserveasabarrierbetweencoverfabricandconventionalpolyurethanefoam(seeSections21and22).Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
